Open Access Policy
- The journal follows an open-access policy.
- All published articles are freely available to increase visibility. The journal facilitates a broader exchange of knowledge and promotes the dissemination of research, creating greater opportunities for researchers who may lack access to resources for publishing high-quality scientific contributions.
- Articles will be published under a Creative Commons (CC) license, allowing readers to reuse, distribute, and share the work under specific conditions (e.g., attribution to the original authors). The exact licensing type (e.g., CC BY-NC-ND) will be specified in each article.
- Each published article is assigned a DOI. The journal has been assigned an ISSN (3067-946X), enhancing its discoverability and ensuring permanent accessibility.
- The journal is currently indexed in Google Scholar; however, the publisher will apply for indexing in platforms such as Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and DOAJ to enhance the visibility and accessibility of the journal’s content.
- The journal actively preserves all published materials by archiving articles in repositories such as the Internet Archive and LOCKSS. It follows PKP’s preservation policy and ensures that all articles are securely stored in designated archival repositories. Authors are also encouraged to deposit their work in institutional repositories to enhance accessibility and longevity.
Article Processing Charges
The journal follows an open-access policy which means that the articles published by the journals are available free of charge and no subscriptions are required to download the content. The authors must pay Article Processing Charges (APC) after acceptance of the manuscript for publication. The APC covers various essential services which include editorial assistance, technical support (website hosting, maintenance, and regular software updates), copyediting, and production services. Additionally, APCs cover the fees for article promotion and marketing. The APC can be paid by either the authors, their institutions, their funders, or their employer.
The APCs are as follows: a research article is $500, a review article is $400, and case studies is $300. Fee waivers and discounts are available for lead authors and corresponding authors from low-income countries as per The World Bank as well as countries with a lack of research funding for publication charges. The waiver request can be made to the Editor-in-Chief.
Currently, the APCs are waived for articles submitted until December 31, 2025.
Reimbursement and Waiver Policies
The journal and its publisher ensure fair practices in handling APCs. If alternative funding is provided for an open-access article, any previously paid APCs will be refunded. To support researchers facing financial constraints, the journal offers a waiver policy and offers a discount, helping those unable to cover the full cost of open-access publishing. Fee waivers or discounts for lead authors from low-income countries as per The World Bank.
