The photograph was taken by the Prof. Chandan Mahanta.

The Journal of Environmental Science, Health & Sustainability is dedicating this issue to the life and legacy of Prof. (Dr.) Chandan Mahanta of the IIT Guwahati, India.

This issue brings together five articles that examine how agricultural practices influence greenhouse gas emissions, as well as key critical zone processes, including aquifer geochemical processes, and the digital habits and environmental attitudes of undergraduate students. These studies highlighted the interconnected roles of human behavior, land management, and geochemical processes in shaping sustainable environmental outcomes.
